3 Birthday Cakes

Cake #1- Wendy's Cake
It was a co-workers birthday and we love food!
It was a three layer chocolate and vanilla cake with buttercream icing.

Cake #2- Matt's Cake
My cousin Matt is a firefighter and his birthday is also on Christmas Eve. He is always talking about how he always celebrates both together. So he was working his shift at the fire station, i surprised him with a birthday cake that night for him and his co-workers to enjoy.

Cake #3- Emily's Cake
Emily saw Hailey's cake that i posted on facebook and wanted a cake just like it. But i designed it different  so she would have her own unique cake.

Carolina Tarheels and Football

The next cake that i attempted to make was a surprise grooms cake for a childhood friend. She wanted to surprise her groom with a gift. He is a big Carolina Tarheels fan. It was 2nd attempt at the fondant.

I made these mini cupcakes for my stepson's football awards. There was almost 150 of them and ALL of them was eaten up by all them teams.

The cake that started it all....

Last October (2009), we was planning my stepdaughter's 13th birthday and i wanted to attempt to make her cake to save some money. But i also wanted it to be something that a 13 year old girl would be proud of- because lets just face- the things they like change day by day and even hour by hour. I knew that hot pink and zebra print was "in". This also started my love affair with fondant. I didnt love the price of the box of fondant at the store- so in with trying to save money, i searched and searched the web for anything fondant how-to. I attempted my first batch of fondant and it 'WORKED'' just as i had hoped!!! Hailey's cake was a hit! Everyone loved it and i think even Hailey loved it!
